I am not opposed to getting a job, but I don’t think she understands the pain of getting one that not only fits my schedule. There is also the unfortunate truth that most places that are hiring are posting fake job listings and take a long time to reply. When you do get a response, it’s usually after you have landed the second-most important gig.
School is going well, and I don’t want to ruin my chances of a healthy semester if I get a job that is going to interfere with my sanity. Internships are possible, but only so many of them pay enough. Maybe I could start freelance writing or talk to my friend at AP to get more involved with the election stuff. That’s right, I am working the polls for the midterms. I love doing that for two reasons.
The experience is a nice reminder that I am a part of a larger democratic process and
It introduces me to some cool individuals that I could lean on later on for more opportunities
Is there a new art that I must master before seeking out employment because SOS need JOB
