Tonight is the perfect night to spend in bed. While it is Friday night, and most young people are hitting up an assortment of local bars and clubs, I choose to remain inside. After a quick trip to Central Park in the morning, I went to physical training at Equinox. I have been a member since January, but it wasn’t until recently that I started using all of my membership’s perks. One of which is two complimentary sessions with a trainer.

At first, I didn’t know how to approach any of the coaches. They are buff, intimidating, and know how to work the machines like they built them from scratch. I don’t struggle with social anxiety, but I waited until one of the coaches texted me first about receiving personal training. The coach that texted me wanted to know about my goals for my body, and this is what I had to say.

When we met for my first session today, we focused on squats. Squats with a mat, squats with a weight, squat taps. So many squats. Because it was my first session, I found it hard to keep my balance. I would roll my eyes and sit down at any point. With a little motivation, booty on 100 motivation, I was able to pull through.

I walked out of my first session sore but relaxed. The nap I took afterward was perfection — chef’s kiss.

In other news…

I was invited to a Miu Miu event. I have a good friend that works at the Miu Miu on E. 57th, and he has been curious about the next Miu Miu event I could attend. Today he emailed me with information about the next event, and I made sure to RSVP early on. I am excited because this means I can network. I was a chatter box during my training session, and I will be a chatter box at the Miu Miu party. I am also going to love dressing up. This event combines the best of two of my favorite worlds.

What shall I wear?
