I walked over 30,000 steps today. I began my morning with a walk to my contact fitting. The exam was frustrating because I have never touched my eye like that before. You would think that something so tiny would be easier to put in, but it’s a huge mental hill to climb over.

Then I spent my afternoon talking to boutiques about their new collections, gathering information for me to write about. I like doing that. “That” being having a conversation about what’s coming to their store while also trying on items without the intention of buying.

I finished my day in Hudson Yards, attending two free DJ sets. The city has a lot of free and fun events open to the public, so many of my friends and I are getting together all around the city. We follow our bat symbol—trobe lights—and huddle up. Tonight, I waltzed into an area intended for Wells Fargo customers without a care in the world. Nobody seemed to notice. We sipped fun drinks while we bopped to the freshest DJs the city has to offer.

Today’s song of the day is one I have admired since its release date. I have grown to like this artist’s discography. I played this song as I danced my way to the next party. Today’s song of the day is The Giver by Chappell Roan. I first heard about Roan during my time in Italy. We joked about someone dubbed the “Midwest Princess,” and I didn’t know who that was until much later. The Giver is the song you listen to when you want to strut down the street. boots clicking against the gravel.

I finally caved and bought two Labubus. I know, late to the trend, but I saw the pair and had to pick them up. The guy selling them showed me the authenticity code, and I knew that they were coming home with me. My mom has spent several hours on the Pop Mart live trying to get one, so I plan on sending one to her.

I am satisfied with only buying two now because I know that I won’t want more later on. I am not the biggest Labubu fan, and the whole craze has honestly pushed me away. I have always been the type to carry pieces casually. Labubus, to me, are adorable, and that’s it. No need to stand in line for hours for one. I got one within five minutes. End of story.

The store I bought them from was selling huge Labubus, and I did fanboy over those for a moment. One of them had giant wings on the back—it was cute AND mischievous. I don’t have any room in my apartment to start collecting giant Labubus, so the keychains were the perfect decision.

Where should I attach them? I like the idea of putting the doll on my keys.
