I asked my future famous movie director friend if it was too corny to start including a song of the day with my newsletter, and he hit me with
“I don’t think so!”
So, I believe I will start including the song of the day. Today’s song of the day is “We Can’t Stop” by Miley Cyrus. Cyrus has been in the news recently, promoting her new album, and every time I see her, I can only think about her performance at the 2013 MTV VMAs. I never grew up watching Hannah Montana and was instead introduced to Miley during this era of her music career. Something was in the air during that performance because it is one my mom and I still talk about. Even a decade later, the foam hand, giant teddy bears, and Miley twerking on Robin Thicke singing along to Blurred Lines still remain in our heads.
This performance caused a lot of frenzy in the press. Miley was immediately shamed for several reasons. She went from the homegrown country girl singing about never giving up to the scandalous adult who danced provocatively to a song about rape. Nonetheless, Miley is still one of my favorite artists. When flipping through the Miley Cyrus discography, I am immediately drawn to her “Bangerz” Era. I still listen to 23.
On that note, I looked at some pieces that I believe Bangerz Era Miley would’ve loved. I stopped by Balenciaga to retrieve a new dust bag for one of my bags. It’s a cold and rainy 60 degrees in NYC lately, so I have to wrap most of my bags if I want to take them outside. While there, I peeked at the new collection and had a warm chat with my sales associate.

This is the clutch we admired together. Balenciaga has had a leadership change recently, and I inquired about when we could see the new styles come in. My sales associate made sure to let me know that the new creative director’s work, Pierpaolo’s, is going to premiere for the Summer 2026 collection. My sales associate and I looked at older collections also. I liked how the crushed Balenciaga bag felt against my body. This is also a piece I could see Miley enjoying.

My sales associate dug in the back for a denim version of this bag, but it wasn’t nearly as appealing as the white one. I like how the crushed bag resembles a trash bag. To me, it looks like a mini-Hefty bag for me to accessorize. A luxury bindle for me to toss on and run around the city while listening to Miley sing about J’s on her feet.
