These last few days have been a doozy. I have done so much clapping, clinking glasses, and networking that my brain savors any moment of rest I can get. My legs feel heavy walking up to my apartment every night, but I know this is a good sign. A sign that everything is coming together for my career, studies, and writing.

Let’s start with yesterday evening—I was invited to a fashion show hosted in Time to Be Happy Gallery in SoHo. I got an invitation and rsvp link two weeks before the show began, so I knew that I had a seat assigned to me. Walking in was one experience, but finding my seat was another. I was seated in C12, and when I locked eyes with my seat, I yelped

“C12, that’s me!” That would later become my caption for my Instagram post. It was exciting to be there amongst some of my favorite designers. The show was incredible, and I had a lovely time seeing old friends.

After the runway show, I made a point to try to go to the Miu Miu party happening the same night. I knew attending both events was going to be a battle since I began checking my calendar off, but I did it. After I said goodbye and hugged all of my friends, I called an Uber going towards Uptown. Traffic wasn’t terrible, but I did get out of my Uber early because once we hit 50th street, the cars started to slow down.

I ran up to the door with my big Miu Miu swining on my hip, and said “Tyler Lucas, my name should be on the list.” The squad standing infront of the door checked their iPads and nodded towards security to open the door. Immedieatly, people were staring. My outfit definetly stood out from the crowd. I was wearing Miu Miu, of course, but I made sure to add elements of myself into the outfit.

The amount of compliments I got on my hat was unrreal. I got pulled aside several times, and I had to tell them that hat wasn’t designer. It was a Union Square find! I paid exactly $27.52 for this hat. I found it while I was walking home to get dressed for the parties, and thought to myself, wow, everybody is going to love this. My manifestations came true, and I rocked both events that night.

Paws up little monsters,

TJL
