I have finally returned to my computer and my bed. I didn’t spend much time at the party last night because the dance floor was full of fog. There was a serious amount of fog emitting from the DJ booth, and I hated every second of dancing in what felt like an episode of Goosebumps. I thought about bringing a bag to hold all of my belongings—ID, wallet, keys, etc.—but I chose not to. I am pleased with my decision.
Today’s song of the day is one that played when I hit shuffle on my Spotify playlist. This song is going to turn ten years old next year, but I still remember the day it came out. This song is soft and warm. Whether the candles are burning or your mind is racing, this song is perfect to listen to. Today’s song of the day is “Versace on the Floor” by Bruno Mars.
I wasn’t shopping Versace today, but I was at the Miu Miu store on 57th and 5th Avenue. I wanted to go in to not only window shop but also catch up with my client assistant. I haven’t seen them in months, so it was enjoyable to sit down on the soft blue couches and clink glasses of sparkling water. We engaged in a conversation about recent life decisions, travel plans, and the upcoming made-to-order event at the store. Apparently, I can order a piece from the store, and they will embroider my name on it.
Miu Miu + TJL moment?
During our chat, I looked up and saw the very popular Miu Miu caps. Every corner of the Internet is reposting these caps, and I have yet to warm up to them. I have seen a lot of baseball-style caps running around the city, too. What is going on?
Like any other fashionista, I read what others are saying about the newest styles and trends. I subscribe to a SubStack that calls the brown Miu Miu cap the "perfect hat," but I can't say I agree. Miu Miu has many strong pieces, and I have enjoyed how stylish they are. Despite my love for the brand and sitting in the store’s chairs like Parker Posey at the Toronto International Film Festival, I feel a cap party is totally random.
I am looking at Miu Miu’s past runway looks that include hats, and a lot of them are stacked on top of each other like a mountain of pancakes. This is the Miu Miu I know—Chic and layered. While it may be challenging to wear two hats simultaneously, I would much prefer to do so over a simple baseball cap. Don’t hang up your hat; put another one on instead.
