I told one of my friends that I was going to “go wild with my outfit” last night. I wanted to honor my word, so today I did just that. I walked into both of my classes wearing a vintage jumpsuit, a pair of Louis Vuitton derby shoes, and a tote bag with a Blythe Doll printed on the side. I felt excellent walking down the street, knowing that what I was wearing was going to brighten someone’s day.

The jumpsuit is a thrift store find. I was thrilled when the workers pulled it off the shelf for me so I could imagine myself wearing it. I am a little tall for the suit, but I don’t mind some waist tightness if you know what I mean—wink, wink.

I have worn all of these pieces separately, but never together. I have put in significant effort to keep a healthy body, so it feels pleasing to wear pieces that reward my efforts. I work hard in the gym so I can randomly wear these pieces on a random Wednesday afternoon. Tighter pieces are always a challenge to navigate, and I want an all-encompassing solution.

After class ended and all of my classmates and I were standing around together, one of them came up to me, and said,

“I can’t wait to see what your next outfit is. You always keep me on my toes.”

I liked that interaction. My collection provides a lot of freedom for me to go and be the person I want to be. I smile when people see this quality and recognize that fashion isn’t limited to just trendy jhorts (jean shorts) or Timberlands. Getting recognition from those who create and produce fashion pieces is an extra special experience. Anyways, enough talking. Here’s my outfit!
